Introduction

Digita’s Data Reuse Kit (previously known as UI Transfer) aims to bundle information and software components so organisations can enable their stakeholders (e.g. citizens, employees, customers, …) to reuse data about these stakeholders stored at these organisations with other parties while complying with the Solid standard.

The Digita Data Reuse Kit consists of the following artefacts:
  • A document that describes the legal framework for data reuse via Solid within Europe. This framework is based upon the notion of:

    • Data source (the entity that lets a data subject reuse his/her data from that entity),

    • Data recipients (the entity that lets a data subject reuse his/her data at that entity)

  • An SDK to support interaction with IDPs and pod servers

  • Several reusable UI components for the following user stories:

    • Allowing a data subject to display his or her data sources data source to a data subject

    • Allowing a data subject to select one or multiple data sources

    • Allowing a data subject to give consent for a well defined purpose

    • Allowing a data subject to see if the consent was successful or not

    • Allowing a data subject to identify him or herself using an IDP

  • A demo application that implements the above artefacts for one concrete example.

The software artefacts (i.e. the SDK, the components and the demo application) can be accessed on Github. The legal framework can be accessed on Google Docs.
